How to Clean an Instant Vortex Air Fryer – Easy Guide with over 30 Pictures

In this article, I will show you how to clean an Instant Vortex air fryer after in easy steps. Step by step photos show you exactly how to do it!

Cleaning you Instant Vortex air fryer on a regular, preferably after each use, is very important as this can prevent grease buld-up, gets rid of the smell or taste of previously cooked foods. It can also prevent food residue from smoking and burning.

As with any kitchen applicance, by maintainig regular cleaning of your Instant Vortex air fryer after each use, you will also ensure it works at its optimal performance and for a much longer time.

I’ve put together a simple guide with pictures to help you clean your air fryer quickly in just a few simple steps. Keep reading.

How to Clean an Instant Vortex Air Fryer – Step by Step

Step 1

The first thing you should when you will clean an electric appliance is to unplug it from the wall outlet. This is for security reasons, you don’t want the risk of getting electrocuted when you will be using water and electrical components.

If you have just finnished using your Instant Vortex air fryer you will have to wait for it to cool down before you can start cleaning it.

Step 2

Remove the basket. In the pciture below you can see my basket is really dirty. I have used the Instant Vortex air fryer many times without cleaning it after each use.

Step 3

Remove the cooking tray (pcitured below) from the Basket.

In the picture below you can see the cooking tray from my air fryer is dirty.

First we rinse it with water in the kitchen sink to remove the big food particles.

We scrub with a non-abarasive sponge to remove those food particles that are stuck.

The following pciture is a clean cooking tray.

Step 4

The next step is to clean the Instant Vortex air fryer basket. In the following picture you can see how many grease buildup is in ours.

We first scrub with a non abarasive sponge and water to remove the grease.

Then we rinse with water in the kitchen sink to remove any food stuck at the bottom and sides of the inside of our basket.

In the following picture you can see the cleaned inside of our basket.

Now that the inside is clean we proceed to clean the outside of the air fryer basket. In the folloing picture you can see how dirty aour basket is from the outside. This is because I haven’t been cleaning the Instant Vortex air fryer afte each use.

To clean the sides of the air fryer basket we are going to use a brush like the one in the following picture.

Start gently scrubbing the side to remove the grease build-up.

After some scrubbing add some Dawn Powerwash dish soap (pictured below) to the outside surface of the basket.

We let the Dawn powerwash soap soak for a couple of minutes to let it get in and loosen any grease.

With a paper towel (pictured below) we scrub the sidea of the basket to remove the grease.

In the following picture is my paper towel, you can see how dirty it came out after done cleaning.

After you are done cleaning the cooking tray and basket, lay down a towel and place the cooking tray and basket (upside down) like in the following picture.

Step 5

Now we continue with the inside of the Instant Vortex air fryer. In the following picture you can see how leaving the air fryer without cleaning after many uses can end up like. It lokks pretty nasty.

In the following pciture you can see the heating element area. As you can see, it is also dirty after many uses without cleaning.

For easier cleaning of the inside we turn the Instant Vortex air fryer upside down. (Pcitured below)

To remove the less sticky food residue we use a paper towel.

Gently scrub the inner surfaces of the air fryer with the paper towel.

In the following picture you can see how the paper towel we used ended up.

Now we add some Dawn Powerwash to a paper towel.

We scrub with the damp paper towel the inside. Always be gentle and especially around the heating element. This completes the cleaning of the heating element area.

Now we turn the Instantn Vortex air fryer around to its original position (Pictured below). We add some Dawn Powerwash direclty to the inside bottom and sides of the air fryer like in the following picture. We let it sit for a couple of minutes.

While we wait we can go ahead and clean the outisde of the Instant Vortex air fryer. In the following picture you can see our is a little dirty.

We use a micrifiber cloth to clean the outisde (Pictured below).

In the following picutre you can see how shiny our air fryer turned out after we cleaned it.

we come bask to the inside of our air fryer. The Dawn soap has settle in and done its magic.

We use a soft bristle brush like the one in the following picture. We scrub the inside gently with the brush to remove any stuck grease.

In the following picture you can see how the brush turned out, it is full of grease and food residue.

Next we use a paper towel to scrub the inside and continue removing grease.

Now we use a non abrasive sponge to scrub gently and remove the most tough grease.

Finally we use a dry microfiber cloth to clean and dry at the same time.

Step 6

The last step is to reassemble the Instant Vortex air fryer. In the following picture you can see how clean our air fryer was when the process was completed.

Tips and Tricks

• Don’t use metal utensils or abrasive sponges to clean any part of your air fryer that have non-stick coating. This will remove the non-stcik coating and you risk consuming this in your next cookings.
• Don’t immerse the whole air fryer in water or any other liquid because some parts have electrical components that can be ruined.
• Wait for the air fryer to completely cool down befor you start cleaning it.
