How to Clean a Ninja Air Fryer – Step by Step
Step 1
If you have just finished using your Ninja air fryer you will have to wait for it to cool down. Normally it cools down in arond 10 minutes.
When your air fryer cools down, before cleaning, unplug the power cable from the wall outlet. This is to avoid any accidents because we are dealing with electrical components and water.
Step 2
Pull out the drawer(s) to start cleaning them. In our case we are cleaning a Dual Zone Ninja Air fryer (pcitured below without the drawers) so we removed both drawers.
Remove the crisper plate (pictured below) from the drawer(s).
First remove the bigger food particles left from the last use. In our case, you can see both drawers have many food residue.
Rinse off the drawers in your kitchen sink.
Add some dish soap to a non abrasive sponge. We prefer to use Dawn dish soap but you can use any brand you prefer.
Gently scrub the inside walls and bottom of your Ninja air fryer. This will remove the stuck food. As most Ninja air fryers have non-stick coating the removing of grease and stuck food is not that complicated.
Once you are done scrubbing, rinse off the soap and grease with running water in your kitchen sink. In the picture below you can see how clean one fo our drawers turned out after cleaning.
Step 3
Nest we are cleaning the Ninja air fryer Crisper Plates. Add a small amount of dish soap on a non abrasive sponge (pictured below).
Scrub both crisper plates with the sponge to remove any food residue and grease.
Rinse off the soap and grease with running water in your kitchen sink. (pictured below)

Place your drawers up side down and your crisper plates to air dry. (picture below)
Step 4
Clean the inside of you Ninja air fryer with a soft cloth. Be very gentle around the heating element so as not to damage it.
In the following pciture you can see the interior of our Ninja air fryer after the cleaning process. Looks like it was never used.
Step 5
To clean your Ninja air fryer externally, just use a damp cloth all around.

Tips on How to Clean a Ninja Air Fryer
- Never inmerse the main unit in water or any liquid. The main unit has electrical components and this can cause an accident and it can damage your Ninja air fryer.
- Never try to clean the main unit in the dishwasher. The hot temperatures of the dishwasher may damge the main unit.
- It is best not to clean the Ninja air fryer drawers in the dishwasher. The high temperatures of the dishwasher can damage the plastics in the drawer.
- the only part of your Ninja air fryer we recommend cleaning in a dishwasher are the Crisper Plates. As these are made of all metal, these can withstand the high temperatures in the dishwasher.
